She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen's triumphant return.

Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

“She was a whirling cloud of death, a queen of shadows, and these men were already carrion.”
- Queen of Shadows

Throne of Glass wasn't a debut novel I was sure would move me when it was first released into the world.  The cover and the synopsis felt all too familiar at the time and I was hesitant to give it a try. Despite that, I walked into the series and read Sarah J. Maas' debut title with an open mind. My verdict: Sarah J. Maas had me hooked from start to finish with her incredibly immersive characters and world building.

“She was fire, and light, and ash, and embers. She was Aelin Fireheart, and she bowed for no one and nothing, save the crown that was hers by blood and survival and triumph.”
-Queen of Shadows

Queen of Shadows, the fourth installment in the Throne of Glass series, takes readers on an epic high fantasy journey that follows our favourite characters of the series. With over 600 pages of non-stop page turning excitement, Sarah J. Maas' Queen of Shadows kept me up all night, desperate to devour the entire book without want of interruption. Celaena, thankfully, still continues to be one of my favourite heroines in young adult fiction; realistically flawed and beautifully bad ass. Furthermore, the emotion in Queen of Shadows was potent and had me reaching over for the tissues several times.

As the fourth installment in the series, Queen of Shadows does not disappoint Throne of Glass fans and readers. Sarah J. Maas continues to deliver her incredible writing and storytelling in this high fantasy release perfect for readers over the age of 13. I'm highly anticipating the release of book 5 and look forward to seeing what Sarah has in store for her readers and her characters.
