{Event Recap} ~ Toronto Comic Con 2018

Hey there, Cupcakes!

It's been over a week since I attended this year's Toronto Comic Con, so I thought it was about time I stopped by with a quick recap of my experience this year. I attended on the first day only, March 16th, and was unbelievably eager to get to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. I was disappointed that it was still unbearably cold around con-time (and flurrying, mind you), but I still chose to dress up and bare with the poor weather. I tested out my new lolita coord, my first during the winter, and couldn't wait to show it off!

I arrived at Comic Con right before 4:00PM, ready to dive in and explore every inch of this year's geektastic event. I had planned my visit solely for merchandise browsing, meeting up with friends, and meeting cosplayers, rather than attending panels and doing photo-ops. Overall, I had spent most of my time during the con in the marketplace, exploring from aisle to aisle, discovering new artisans at every corner. In the end, I came away with meeting countless talented people, and came home with a few wonderful goodies!

Coord details
Hairbow and Dress : Bodyline - Squirrel Party
Cardigan: Old Navy
Shoes: Customized order
Purse: My Melody - Sanrio TM
Necklace: Crescent Moon Wand by Kuma Crafts *sadly, you can barely see it in this photo*
Rings: Custom made by yours truly. They look like little chocolate cake slices.

*Note: I had worn this OP on my second day of Fan Expo just last year. I absolutely loved it and wanted to incorporate it into something more winter friendly. Thank God for warm, thick stockings!

After a coffee break, more exploring, and meeting up with friends, the fiance and I chose to give the mystery boxes a go. Having not purchased a mystery box in the last two cons, we figured we'd test our luck. The fiance happened to find one that allowed you to choose three boxes, and pick what items you'd like to keep from all three. Not a bad deal! After all was done, we chose to head home right before close (just before 9:00PM). All in all, Toronto Comic Con 2018 was an absolute blast! I had an excellent time and enjoyed seeing everyone's creative cosplays!

Purchased during the con:

  • DC Bombshell - Supergirl Figure *Exclusive Black/White edition
  • Bob Ross Funko Pop *Fan Expo Exclusive
  • Pins from Pinz 'N' Thingz : Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask, Cardcaptor Sakura Sealing Wand, and Sailor Moon Broach
  • Ocean in Space t-shirt - Fight Me
  • Pokemon Gengar hat/scarf and Slytherin laser light (gifted from fiance's mystery box purchase).
